The bitter cold hasn't kept thousands of abortion rights supporters and opponents away from the nation's capital.
They're marking the 30th anniversary of the Supreme Court's landmark Roe v. Wade ruling, which legalized abortion.
Thousands of anti-abortion protesters gathered for the annual Right to Life march. They stopped to look at billboard-sized pictures of aborted fetuses, placed by a man who said people have to see first-hand the horror of abortion to understand it.
One Catholic priest from Ohio even performed a rap against abortion.
A counter-protest is planned at the Supreme Court by Planned Parenthood Federation of America.
National Organization for Women President Kim Gandy says the focus will be on keeping the Supreme Court balance as is. Gandy says the group wants to make sure that this generation isn't the one "that both won and lost reproductive rights in our lifetime."
