A Samson elementary school teacher is officially on administrative leave with pay.
Judy Hudson surrenders at the Geneva County sheriff's department Monday accompanied by her lawyer.
She is facing several charges including possession of a deadly weapon on a school campus, reckless endangerment and having a gun without a permit.
Hudson reportedly pulled out a handgun in the parking lot of Samson High School last month; she was arrested a few hours later after a short standoff with authorities.
Geneva County School Superintendent David Snell told News 4 that Hudson will remain on administrative leave with pay, pending a hearing before the school board.
Snell also says the 45-year-old teacher is not allowed on school grounds without his written permission.
A substitute teacher is now handling Hudson’s duties at Samson Elementary.
She remains free under a 20-thousand dollar bond.
