Delta Air Lines is reducing its flight schedule because of refinery damage in the Gulf caused by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
Airline officials say the Atlanta-based carrier is not experiencing a shortage of jet fuel but say the move is an energy conservation measure. The fuel now costs more.
The proposed cuts will mostly affect early morning and late night flights that are not sold out.
Delta says it will notify affected passengers at least two days in advance if their flights have been canceled.
