KENNER, LA - The New Orleans international airport has reopened for cargo traffic. And airport officials say limited passenger service will begin Tuesday. The airport will start back with about 30 departures and arrivals a day. That's far short of the usual number of 174. For now, all of the flights will be from domestic carriers.
Airport director Roy Williams says international flights are blocked for now because of damage to the international concourse. That concourse also is being used by civilians and military involved in the Hurricane Katrina relief effort.
