Jackson County Fire

A Jackson County family is without a home after a fire destroyed their four-bedroom house Tuesday.

Beverly Rodgers and her three children were not at home when the fire started.

Firefighters were hindered by the poor road conditions leading to the house and one fire truck got stuck in sand.

This is the second time in four years the Rodgers family has been devastated by a tragedy. In the late 1990s, their previous home was destroyed by a tornado.

At this time, officials are not sure what started the blaze. The state fire marshal’s office has been called in to try to determine a cause.
