Geneva County Commissioners Meeting

The Alabama Forestry Commission may have to come up with funds for the Wiregrass area.

Retired Geneva County Probate Judge Harold Wise brought the matter before the Geneva County Commission Monday.

Each year, Judge Wise said the Forestry Commission makes millions through the sale of timber on state and federal land.

Judge Wise wants some of the profits for paving; specifically, a main road through the Geneva State Forest.

Geneva County Commissioners unanimously passed a resolution to be sent to Montgomery.
