An elderly Wiregrass woman has been arrested for trying to kill her son at his home off Macedonia Road in Hartford.
Sixty-seven-year-old Geraldine Copeland is charged with attempted murder.
Hartford Police say she tried to kill 48-year-old Donald Copeland.
She allegedly fired a .38 caliber handgun five-times at the man.
Reportedly, both mother and son were arguing over the ownership of a piece of land.
Hartford Police Chief Greg Adams said, “She reloaded the handgun before police got to her, she then pointed it in my officer's direction. It caused dangerous, tense moments before she surrendered the gun. Fortunately, everything turned-out okay.”
Mrs. Copeland has been released from the Geneva County Jail under a $25,000 bond.
