An Illinois cookie company is recalling one batch of Mrs. Alison's Tango Cookies because they contain peanuts not listed on the label, posing a risk of life-threatening reactions to people allergic to peanuts.
The problem: A different-flavor cookie, Mrs. Alison's Nut Creme, was put inside the tango cookie packages, said the company, Mrs. Alison's Cookie Co.
Recalled are 12-ounce packages of Mrs. Alison's Tango Cookies that bear the UPC code 72413-00638. They also may have the lot number S1152B.
They were sold in the following states: Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
The company said no allergic reactions have been reported.
People allergic to peanuts should not eat the cookies but return them to the place of purchase for a refund. Consumers with questions may call 1-800-289-0787, ext. 273.
