Bay County Murder Arrest

Fifty-eight-year-old Rufus Miller of Callaway, Florida, was arrested on Friday for the murder of Jerry Wayne Brown.

On Dec. 28, relatives reported Jerry Wayne Brown missing.

Blood and bullet holes were found in the 57-year-old rural Northern Bay County home. Brown's body was found on Jan. 3 behind a cemetery at the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Vernon.

In early November last year while in state prison, Miller told other inmates that when he was released he planned to kill Brown. After allegedly killing Brown, authorities said Miller took Brown's red Ford pick-up truck as well as some money.

Miller has been charged with first-degree murder.
