Testimony continues today in Dothan for a condemned killer with a new lease on life.
29-year-old Dennis McGriff was convicted and sentenced to die for the 1996 murder of Michael McCree during a drive-by shooting in Ashford.
But late last year, the Alabama Supreme Court ordered a new trial because the original jury was not properly instructed before beginning deliberations.
Opening arguments in McGriff's retrial were heard yesterday afternoon at the Houston County Courthouse.
