A plane crashed in Walton County Saturday evening, killing the two people on board.
It happened just before 5 p.m. on a private airstrip that sits off Joe Dugger Road just East of Freeport.
Walton County sheriff's investigators say a two seat Champion Citabria crashed near the grassy airstrip soon after taking off.
The pilot, 63-year-old Fred Bogle of Seagrove Beach died at the scene.
His passenger, 40-year-old Ruber Rios of Tallahassee, died on the way to a local hospital.
The National Transportation and Safety Board is investigating the cause of the crash.
