A Georgia Tech student who injured a janitor after building soda bottle bombs appeared in court yesterday (Wednesday).
Authorities say 18-year-old Theodore Hollot, a first-semester engineering student at Georgia Tech, has been suspended and faces a disciplinary hearing after being arrested for making bottle bombs.
About 100 students were evacuated from two dorms after a janitor picking up trash in the courtyard pulled out a bottle from the bushes and it exploded.
The janitor was taken to a medical clinic for evaluation but suffered no serious injuries.
Georgia Tech police say Hollot came forward Tuesday and told them he had made the bombs in his room and tossed them in a courtyard.
Hollot is charged with possession of destructive devices and reckless conduct.
