The case for a man who police say slashed his mother repeatedly with a machete will go to the jury sometime today (Thursday).
Brenda Tinsley underwent surgery for the wounds and is expected to testify against her own son.
Michael Lindsey went to his mother's home last December in the Piney Grove Community just outside of Samson.
Authorities say after an argument, Lindsey picked-up the machete and began cutting Mrs. Tinsley.
He then held authorities on a six-hour standoff before surrendering.
In his opening statement to the jury, Lindsey’s attorney told the court that the defendant has a history of mental issues.
