The name, merchandise and century-old tradition of Rhodes Furniture will be gone early next year as a new Florida-based owner takes over.
Rooms To Go will sell all Atlanta-based Rhodes' inventory and decide which of its 50 remaining stores across the country will be renamed or sold.
A $45.8 million bid was approved in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court's Northern District of Georgia.
Going-out-of-business sales will begin at Rhodes stores after Labor Day.
Rhodes itself will be gone after January, including the store on the Southside of the Ross Clark Circle here in Dothan.
Rhodes lost about $19 million in 2003 and filed for bankruptcy protection in November 2004.
