A Dale County man convicted of killing a Dothan teen-ager in Florida has been sentenced to life in prison.
Twenty-eight-year-old Stephen Jesse Lester of Ozark was on the run for more than a week last year before police finally caught up with him in troy.
He was convicted last month in the shooting death of 19-year-old Andre Leon Sawyer.
Sawyer’s body was found in a ditch near Campbellton in August of last year.
Prosecutors say Lester and Sawyer had a disagreement after they committed a robbery in Ozark that left a man wounded.
A jury deliberated less than an hour before finding Lester guilty of second degree murder.
