A boy in Mobile left unattended was found unconscious inside a pick-up after he apparently rolled the electric window up and got caught by his neck.
Authorities say the three-year-old Hurricane Katrina evacuee from Pascagoula was left alone in the vehicle outside the parking lot of the postal office while his mother's boyfriend was inside.
They say the young boy hit the button and the window automatically rolled up.
A passerby witnessed what happened and called 911.
The child was unconscious when officers arrived.
The boy was taken to the University of South Alabama Hospital for treatment.
No criminal charges have been filed at this time.
The Mobile County District Attorney's Office will determine if charges will be filed in a case of possible child neglect.
The boy is in foster care.
