A Dothan man accused of killing his wife before trying to kill himself will apparently remain behind bars until he stands trial.
Billy Ray Marchman is being held under a half million dollars bond.
He went to court Tuesday to ask Judge Ed Jackson to lower that amount.
Marchman is charged with killing his wife, Pamela Marchman, in the couple's home two days after Christmas.
Police say Marchman then shot him in the head but survived.
Judge Jackson refused to lower Marchman's bond. He did, however, set a trial date for next month.
Jury selection in the case is scheduled to begin September 13th.
