Saturday, victims of Crime and Leniency held their 11th Annual Candlelight Service honoring victims, their families and those who support them.
Several Alabama law enforcement leaders attended the vigil held at the First Presbyterian Church in Dothan to commemorate National Crime Victim’s Rights Week.
At the end of the service, balloons were released outside as a symbol of hope and renewal for those affected by violent crimes.
Alabama Attorney General Troy King was the keynote speaker. He said, "No more standing with criminals, no more standing against victims, no more excusing criminal conduct, no more coddling criminals."
If you or anyone you know is a victim of crime, you can call the Wiregrass Angel House for help. Their phone number is 702-7010.
