A suspect in the case of a missing Alabama teenager in Aruba says he lied about the last time he saw her.

In a television interview in Holland with "A Current Affair," 18-year-old Joran van der Sloot insists Natalle Holloway was fine when he last saw her on a beach.

Van der Sloot was one of three men who left a bar with Holloway the night she disappeared. The three initially told police they dropped Holloway off alone at her hotel but later admitted van der Sloot got out with her. A transcript of the interview quotes van der Sloot as saying, "We agreed to lie."

He says Holloway wanted to spend the night on the beach but he told her no and left.

There's been no trace of Holloway after she vanished on the final night of a high school graduation trip to the island.
