Houston County’s new budget could mean a pay raise for county employees.
The new budget, worth a little more than $30 million, should include a cost of living increase for county employees. It will also include fuel costs, and health insurance benefits.
Sixteen million dollars is set aside for the general budget.
Even though revenues and expenses are up more than $1 million, $4 million has been set aside in the county's reserve balance.
The county commission will vote on the budget in the county commission meeting next week.
