A Panhandle lawman nearly killed in the line of duty says he's on a mission to prevent other officers from being shot.
In March 2004, Bonifay Police Officer Steven Lee was shot thirteen-times while responding to a domestic call by a deranged gunman.
Fellow officers fired back killing the suspect.
Officer Lee has recently returned to work.
He’s now spearheading a campaign to get the department's five officers equipped with tasers. Each taser costs around nine-hundred dollars.
The Bonifay Police Department has a limited budget, so Lee is asking for contributions.
