Honduras Death

Army Sergeant Luke DeGroff died while he and his crew were on a training mission in Central America.

It's the most tragic time in the lives of Steve and Dawn DeGroff. Although just 22 years old, Sergeant DeGroff was already the Crew Chief aboard the Blackhawk Helicopter. A well respected soldier who leaves behind lots of friends and family.

Steve and Dawn DeGroff said DeGroff was proud to serve his country and that he would like the public to know of the dangerous sacrifices being made by thousands of young men and women in harm's way.

DeGroff was stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky before his tragic mission in Honduras. Although he died a very young man, his parents said he'll forever be remembered by so many who loved him.

The DeGroffs have created a memorial fund set up in their son's honor. They hope to use the money for those in need.
