Alabama Army National Guard Unit

Gov. Don Siegelman announced Monday that another Alabama Army National Guard Unit has been activated.

About 145 soldiers from the 900th Maintenance Company of Brundidge and Phenix City will be mobilized in the near future.

They will take part in Operation Noble Eagle Homeland Security Missions.

The date of the activation, departure from home station and where they will report for duty have not been announced yet.

Since Sept. 11, more than 3200 Alabama Army and Air Guard personnel have been called to active duty.
