Shuttle Discovery Commander Eileen Collins and her crew have arrived back at Kennedy Space Center in advance of Tuesday's planned launch.
The skies were sunny and nearly cloudless as the astronauts landed. Collins quipped, "It looks like a nice day for a space shuttle launch" -- and she said her fingers were crossed that the crew would wake up to similar conditions come Tuesday.
Collins went out of her way to thank the NASA engineers who've been working on the problem with the faulty fuel gauge that forced last week's launch scrub.
She says she's eager for the Discovery to return to space and begin its mission -- but she says meeting the schedule is secondary to making sure that Discovery's return to space is a safe one.
