A small-town drug bust has big-city results, after investigators with the Henry County Sheriff's Office obtained thousands of dollars worth of drugs from an area mobile home.
Investigators took in some major players in the area drug trade with one swift move.
It’s a substantial drug bust by the standards of any town, big or small. Narcotics, guns, and lots of cash.
But, Henry County Sheriff Lawton Armstrong remains modest while describing the arrest of these men, all facing serious drug charges.
The good day's work happened on Tuesday, when investigators executed a search warrant on a mobile home off a remote county road on the outskirts of Abbeville. The value of what they found inside makes the home seem more like the palace of a drug king.
Nearly three-thousand in cash, two hundred dollars worth of marijuana, almost three-thousand dollars worth of cocaine, vile of crack with a street value of fifteen thousand dollars, scales, cell phones, and surveillance equipment were seized by officials.
Out of the six men in custody, three are from Abbeville, one is from Dothan, and two are from Fort Pierce, Florida.
The sheriff's department says there may be additional arrests in the case.
