An Enterprise day care owner accused of injuring an infant at her facility goes to court next week.
32-year-old Julie Watkins was arrested last week and charged with first degree assault.
Five month old Jake Garrett spent more than a week at a Birmingham hospital where doctors diagnosed brain injuries caused by "shaken baby syndrome".
Watkins operated a day care center out of her home.
She’s free on a $20,000 bond but she must avoid contact with children, especially the victim, as a condition of her release.
A preliminary hearing in the case is set for September 7th.
