A judge will decide Wednesday whether a Dutch suspect held in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway should remain in jail or be released. 18-year-old Joran Van der Sloot has been held for nearly three months in the case.
He was arrested June ninth along with two friends, 18-year-old Satish and 21-year-old Deepak Kalpoe. The Kalpoe brothers were released July fourth and they were rearrested last week.
Van der Sloot's lawyer tells The Associated Press that judicial authorities informed him a judge would decide on the detention of his client in Aruba. Van der Sloot maintains his innocence.
Prosecutors said today they have filed a motion to keep van der Sloot detained another 30 days.
The eighteen-year-old Holloway, of Mountain Brook, was last seen May 30th leaving a bar with the Kalpoes and van der Sloot, hours before she was to end a vacation celebrating her high school graduation.
Extensive searches of the island have produced no sign of the teen.
No one has been charged.
