Emergency Management Preparedness

Houston County Emergency Management Agency officials met Sunday afternoon to discuss Hurricane Katrina.

EMA officials say our area will probably receive around five inches of rain by tomorrow, with wind gusts of 30 to 40 miles per hour.

They are prepared and on stand-by.

Local law enforcement agencies will provide transportation for the disabled and elderly if needed.

The Houston County Farm Center is open today for animals and RVs..

No local closings have been reported and schools will be open today.

The Houston County EMA will hold another meeting this morning at 9:00 o'clock.
