Florida National Guard

Thursday was a busy day at the Armory in Chipley.

Soldiers reporting there are members of the Third Battalion, 124th Infantry Regiment. The troops are from Chipley, Bonifay, Panama City and Tallahassee.

After initial training, they will be deployed either within the U.S. for Homeland Security, or they'll be sent overseas as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Officials said this is Florida's largest mobilization of troops since World War II.
