Forecasters say Hurricane Emily is now a Category Two hurricane as it strengthens in the eastern Caribbean.
Maximum sustained winds have increased and are now near 100 miles per hour. Forecasters expect the storm to strengthen during the next 24 hours.
Emily is moving toward the west-northwest near 18 miles per hour. At 11 a.m. in Miami, the center of the hurricane was about 560 miles southeast of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. That area is under a tropical storm watch, including Haiti.
A tropical storm warning is in effect for the northern coast of Venezuela. A tropical storm warning is in effect for Bonaire, Curacao and Aruba.
