A suspect in the senseless death of a Fort Payne gas station owner turned himself in to authorities.
Police Chief David Walker says 42-year-old Alvin Dwight Benefield of nearby Ider surrendered to police.
Husain ``Tony'' Caddi was killed last Friday when he tried to stop Benefield for allegedly driving off without paying for $52 in gasoline.
Caddi allegedly grabbed onto Benefield's moving 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, but was run over and killed.
Benefield’s vehicle was seized by police.
Charges against him include manslaughter and theft of property.
He’s being held in jail without immediate bond.
The victim's son Amri Muharram says he will begin a three-week journey to bury his father at his home in Indonesia.
