Contract negotiations with Pemco and their union workers have sparked concern among Dothan city commissioners.
In Tuesday’s city commission meeting, District 3 Representative Don Clements voiced his frustration.
He says the city of Dothan gave Pemco $1 million in 2002 with the understanding the company would help create 500 more jobs in the Dothan area.
But, according to him, Pemco is now locking out their employees and hiring contract workers to take their place.
Clements has requested for City Manager Mike West to contact Pemco to find out more information and help with negotiations.
