New charges have been filed against a burglary suspect who led police on a high speed chase Monday.
Thirty-nine-year-old Steven Collier of Valley, Alabama was originally charged with two residential burglaries in Dothan. Now he's accused of breaking into two more homes.
Dothan Police tried to pull Collier over, but he refused to stop and the chase led into Henry County on Highway 431 at speeds of 100 miles per hour.
Collier eventually crashed in a ditch north of Newville.
Police say the Chambers County man did not appear to be seriously injured, but was taken to a Dothan hospital to make sure.
That’s where Collier allegedly stole an ambulance and tried to escape, but he only made it across the street before officers chased him down on foot.
Investigators say some of the property Collier allegedly stole has been recovered.
