Seminole County Georgia is mourning the death of a high school athlete who collapsed during cross country practice on Monday.
Flags were flown at half staff at Seminole County schools in remembrance of 16-year-old Bryan Register.
In the halls, faculty and students are mourning the loss of a beloved friend, classmate and athlete.
Counselors comforted students and were impressed with the way they were talking and expressing themselves.
And while the grieving continues, cross country practice resumed at Seminole County High School.
Tuesday’s practice was held inside in the gym on the indoor track and Coach Mark Carr even made it optional for his team to attend, he didn't want to force anyone to come back before they were ready.
A few did show up to run---trying to get back that sense of normalcy.
It has hit everyone pretty hard---Coach Carr wasn't quite ready to speak on camera, but a couple of Register's friends and teammates did.
This was the first year Bryan Register went out for cross country.
He was just over a week into practice.
The cause of death is expected to be announced sometime today.
