Dr. Martha Myers of Montgomery was one of three people killed at a Southern Baptist hospital in Yemen. She was buried Tuesday in Yemen, as she had wished. Her father, former Alabama health officer Ira Myers, said his daughter's grave will serve as testimony to her work. Dr. Martha Myers had spent 24 years helping the poor in Yemen.
A memorial service is planned for 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Dauphin Way Baptist Church in Mobile. Myers attended the church while doing her medical residency at the University of South Alabama. Another memorial service is planned for 3 p.m. Saturday at her home church, Dalraida Baptist in Montgomery.
