Alabama's rapid growth in the automotive industry has helped the state land a major conference.
Automotive News magazine chose the Wynfrey Hotel in Hoover as the site for its manufacturing conference on May 5 and May 6. Magazine publisher Keith Crain said Alabama is the perfect place for an American manufacturing conference because suppliers are joining Mercedes, Honda and Hyundai in the state.
The event marks the first time Automotive News has brought its national manufacturing conference to the Birmingham area.
