Wiregrass Helps With Pets

If you are looking for a place in the Wiregrass to keep your pets safe from the storm, the Houston County Farm Center in Dothan is taking all types of four-legged friends.

Owners must keep a close eye on their animals, as well as furnish their own food and water. Pets must also be in a cage.

The Farm Center has a 100-stall barn for horses.

The Farm Center only had a few animals as of Saturday morning, but expect to receive many more.

A Walton County shelter is bringing around 120-animals.

Charles Barthlemess at the Houston County Farm Center says, "These people that are in shelters, some concerns they've had is there is no where to keep their animals or loved ones and they don't want to leave them in the car or truck with the heat so we provide a place to bring their pets."

The Farm Center is also offering RV hook-ups for evacuees.
