Three Florida canine handlers and their dogs are helping to search in Aruba for missing Alabama teen Natalee Holloway.
A Texas volunteer group, Texas EquuSearch, recruited them to search for the teen, who disappeared nearly a month ago. Natalee's family asked the group to help look for the 18-year-old.
Mary Peter is searching with her dog Ruger. Peter trains dogs to help disabled people and police at her Brooksville training center.
Pasco County, Florida, Deputy Sam Pepenella and Lynne Parsons of Largo also joined the search-and-rescue team with their dogs.
Pepenella and Peter are members of the K-9 Forensics and Cadaver Recovery Team, a Tampa Bay-area team that has searched for human remains as far away as Panama.
The Floridians began their search with about two dozen other volunteers Sunday on the Dutch Caribbean island. Texas EquuSearch is also providing divers and sonar equipment.
