Prosecutors will present testimony in the Franklin Herring murder trial.
The 60-year-old is charged in the shooting death of a Geneva County man.
Forty-one-year-old Travis Thames was found fatally shot in a home owned by Herring in Geneva County’s rural Flat Creek Community after a party on Halloween night, 2003.
Besides the defendant and victim, several others were reportedly inside the home when the shot was fired.
It was initially reported Thames picked-up the shotgun and it accidentally went off.
But, authorities say Herring planned to kill the Florida man. If convicted, Herring could spend the rest of his life in prison.
