AUBURN, AL - The Auburn Alumni Association board met Saturday, June 25th, and pledged more than 2.2 million dollars over the next two years for student scholarships.
Auburn officials say the money mainly will come from savings in the association's operating costs, from Auburn Clubs and from donations by current and former Alumni Association board members.
In a statement, Auburn interim Vice President for Alumni Affairs Debbie Shaw says interim President Ed Richardson deserves credit for helping with the agreements that led to the scholarships pledge.
Richardson called it an example of the university and alumni working together.
