The price of crude oil edged up above the $54 a barrel mark in New York Thursday, and prices at Alabama gas stations also rose about a penny a gallon.
The Triple-A Alabama survey finds regular unleaded at $2.03; midgrade average $2.18; and premium fuel at $2.25. The Birmingham-based auto club said at this rate, the price of a gallon of gas may go up a nickel by week's end compared to last weekend.
Triple-A said Birmingham's average for regular is $2.01, the lowest city average in the state. Huntsville recorded the highest average at $2.07.
