A Geneva County family is grieving for the loss of a loved one who died in a tragic pre-dawn house fire.
At around one o'clock Saturday morning, emergency responders arrived on the scene of a home totally engulfed in flames.
Firefighters found the body of Earl Sanders in the back of the residence.
His teenage stepson was able to safely escape the burning structure.
The 47-year-old victim had just gotten married last week, and was to become a deacon in his church.
The State Fire Marshall’s office is conducting the investigation into a cause.
Sanders is the second Geneva County resident this year to die in a fatal fire.
