Candlelight Vigil Unites Thomas Family and Friends

More than a handful of people came out to show their respect to Christopher Jerome Thomas' family tonight (7/3/12).

A candlelight vigil was held at the Village Plaza.

That's where the shooting took place last week.

Family and friends wore "rest in peace shirts" ...and held their burning candles as support for Thomas and his family.

Thomas' mother has not spoken out before but shared with me...just how hard this situation has been on her.

"When I got a phone call at work saying that my son had been shot by the police four times, that was devastating to me and that hurt... it just hurt me. But I know he was loved, I know he was loved and I got a lot of support behind me," said Catherne Thomas.

Funeral services for Thomas will be held this Friday (7/6/12) at North Highland Baptist Church in Dothan at 1 p-m.
