A one-vehicle crash claimed the life of a Bay County woman early this morning.
The Florida Highway Patrol says 23 year old Kiaya Cardwell was traveling northbound on 231 with three year old Landon Davis around 3:20 Tuesday morning. A witness, also traveling northbound, stated she saw the vehicle coming up behind her at a high rate of speed.
Cardwell swerved into the inside lane, then swerved back to the outside lane and over corrected. Cardwell’s vehicle turned over several times before coming to a rest on the east shoulder near the tree line.
Cardwell was taken to the hospital were she was pronounced dead.
The child's injuries were minor.
