Helicopter Crash

The Army said two of its pilots were killed Thursday night when their Apache helicopter went down in a wooded-area, about 12 miles North-Northwest of Fort Rucker.

The Apache crew was conducting a nighttime training flight when it was reported missing about 10 p.m. A ground and air search was conducted Thursday night, but the aircraft was not found until Friday morning about 6:20 a.m.

Identities of the pilots are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
