The Elba City Council unanimously voted to begin the advertising process for those people interested in selling beer, wine and liquor within the city.
The council's action follows last month's approval of the wet referendum.
All tax revenues generated by alcohol sales will go directly to the financially troubled Elba City School System.
Mayor Grimes believes alcohol sales in his city will begin after the first of the year.
