The Alabama driver's license will get a new look June 1. Major Roscoe Howell of the state Department of Public Safety says the new look will make the license more secure.
The new features include a bar code and magnetic strip that contain information about the driver. There's also an outline of the state with text that will change colors as the license is tilted.
The change in licenses will also make it easier to identify those under 21 who can't buy alcohol. Their licenses will be vertical rather than horizontal and their licenses will say when they turn 21.
