Wendy's is launching a new ad campaign built on the slogan, "Do what tastes right."
One of the new ads spoofs reality TV, with a bachelorette choosing between Wendy's side dishes instead of suitors. Another TV ad shows a woman dunking her head in a fish tank after eating the Wendy's spicy chicken sandwich.
The Ohio-based fast-food chain has been searching for an effective message since the death of Wendy's founder and pitchman Dave Thomas.
The company says the new ad campaign was in development a couple of months before a woman claimed she found a fingertip in a bowl of Wendy's chili. She's now accused of planting the finger.
The claim cost Wendy's millions of dollars in sales and forced the company to lay off workers.
