A Fort Worth, Texas man who allegedly tried to murder his mother by blowing up her house is in police custody.
Police say 46-year-old Santiago Gallegos became angry when his mother would not give him money to buy cigarettes.
He then took her out of her wheelchair and tried to fill her home with natural gas and lit a candle before he left the house.
Luckily, his mother was able to reach a phone by crawling on the floor.
Gallegos is a registered sex offender with an extensive criminal past and he could now face attempted murder charges.
