Wednesday night Alabama Governor Bob Riley gave his 2008 State of the State Address.
In his speech he talked about the gains the state has made and plans he has for future spending.
Governor Riley says no gain in Alabama has been bigger than the one in education.
This includes leading the nation in 4th reading improvements and doubling the nation’s gains in math scores for 4th and 8th grades.
Riley also says a state-wide water assessment is coming.
